DFL Energy

About us

We do the shopping that nobody has time to do.

Energy pricing is deliberately hard to compare. Different suppliers, different contract lengths, different fees buried in different places. We read all of it for a living so you only have to read the summary.

Our story

Started because the market rewards confusion.

DFL Energy exists because of a straightforward observation: deregulation gave customers the right to choose their energy supplier, but almost none of the tools needed to choose well.

A supplier's job is to sell you their own product at the best margin they can get. There is nobody in that conversation whose job is to tell you the offer is mediocre, or that the contract you already have is better, or that you should wait three months. That gap is the whole reason brokers exist.

Today that means comparing supplier offers across 18 deregulated markets, for homes and businesses alike.

Who you deal with

One consultant, start to renewal.

You are not handed to a new person at every stage. The consultant who reads your first bill is the one who negotiates the contract, walks you through the terms before you sign, and calls you when the renewal window opens two years later.

It matters more than it sounds. Knowing a site's usage history and how its last contract was structured is most of what makes the next quote a good one.

How we work

What actually happens after you send a bill.

  1. 01

    We read the bill

Usage across the year, rate class, load profile, current supplier, and the date your present contract ends. That combination decides what you qualify for.

  2. 02

    We run the market

Your numbers go to the suppliers licensed in your utility's territory. Quotes come back on the same terms so they can be compared like for like.

  3. 03

    We explain the trade-offs

Term length against price, cancellation terms, whether a monthly charge undoes a lower rate. Then you decide — we do not sign anything on your behalf.

  4. 04

    We track the renewal

Contracts that lapse roll onto a default rate. We come back to you before that happens, with the market data to make the next call.

Vision

A market where nobody overpays for energy simply because they didn't have time to compare their options.

Mission

We compare electricity and natural gas offers from licensed suppliers against what your utility already charges, and give homes and businesses a straight answer on whether switching is worth it.

Values

What that looks like in practice.

Show the math

You can ask what we're paid on any quote, and we'll tell you. A recommendation only means something if you can see what's behind it.

Say no when it's true

If your current rate already beats the market, we tell you to stay. It costs us a sale. It's also the only way a client trusts the next recommendation.

One point of contact

The consultant who reads your first bill negotiates the contract and calls you at renewal. Continuity is most of what makes a second quote better than the first.

Plain language

Rate classes, load factors and price-to-compare benchmarks are our job to understand, not yours. We translate before we recommend.
